Day 4 Painting
A Lord Knight and Imperial Knight were washed all over with Badab Black, Maybe I should have just chose certain places instead of washing the entire model in it.Day 5 Painting
This day, I went over the darkened knights, attempting to add highlights:- Armor and Metal Portion of Lances - Chainmail to Mithril Silver
- White portion of Shield and Plume - 1:1 Fortress Grey/Skull White to Skull White
- Skull Emblem on Shield - Bleach Bone
- Lord Knight's Necklace and Head Ornament - Shining Gold to Burnished Gold
- Lord Knight's Lance - Bleach Bone to Skull White
The knights on the left side were placed there to show the progress of test models to the right.
Day 6 Painting
Second day adding highlights and touching up the knights.- Red Plumes and the Red Emblem on Shield - Scab Red to Red Gore to Blood Red
- Saddle, Stirrup, and Imperial Knight's Lance - Scorched Brown
Finished a test model for both knight models! Prettysatisfy with how they look especially the plumes on their helmet. The Lord Knight's cloak though might be too white without much shades in it folds. 2 riders done, 10 more to go! I switch back to working on the horses washing the saddle area with Badab Black.
Day 7 and 8 Painting
The last two days, I worked on the 12 horses. What was done exactly the same on all 12 horses:
- Armor - washed in Badab Black
- Hoofs - Kommando Khaki. I will likely have two types of hoof colors - off white and black
- Eyes - Skull White, then Badab Black wash
- Base - Gretchin Green to certain sections
Left to Right: Tau Sept Ochre washed with Gryphonne Sepia; Khemri Brown washed with Devlan Mud; Calthan Brown washed with Devlan Mud; Calthan Brown washed with Ogryn Flesh. |
Hoping to finished up the horses this week or get two completed knights glued to horses this week or completely paint all the horses.
