[Games] Aristeia! - Main Page

"In Aristeia!, each player controls a team of four Characters competing in the bloodiest, most exciting spectacle in the Human Sphere. Throughout five game Rounds, players direct their Character's actions to meet the goals of the Scenario, earning Victory Points to win the game. The first player to collect eight Victory Points wins. Failing that, the player with the most Victory Points at the end of the fifth Round wins. If there's a tie, the player with the most Frag tokens wins." - How to Play Aristeia!, Page 2

[Log] Aristeia! - Overview

The eight characters from the Aristeia! core box
Aristeia! is a board game released in November 2017 that I hope to completely paint the miniatures as new content is released. There are 8 miniatures in the core game and there will be an additional 16 characters through four expansions in 2018. The first expansion is called Soldiers of Fortune and the second expansion is called Smokes & Mirrors. There will also be alternative metal versions of the characters to be sold in blister packs. These are described as skins for the characters like online games calling different outfits of a character. Maximus gets a gladiator outfit with an expected release in January 2018.

My Hobby and Blog in October 2017

October 2017 Reaper 25th Anniversary
October has been an exciting month for me.  Two of the most anticipated games I want, Warhammer Underworlds and Aristeia!, are either available now or available for pre-order, respectively. In a section below, I briefly compared and contrast these two games, not only against each other but also to other games that I have perused. Finally, I just discovered that the site I stored my images, Photobucket, will be eliminating 3rd party hosting to majority of their plans. This includes the plan that I currently have with Photobucket. The only plan that allows third party hosting will cost ~$400 annually. Sadly after 10+ years of using Photobucket, it is time to find a new image storage solution.

It is expected that the character pool will be up to 24 characters by the end of 2018. The first expansion after the core game has been revealed to be "Soldiers of Fortune". My Hobby and Blog in September 2017

September 2017 Reaper 25th Anniversary Model

The official end of Summer 2017 and the beginning of Fall 2017! I am several days late in getting this posted, but it does not mean I have slacked off from my miniature/gaming hobby.

What I have been working on:

Three of my original goals were: 1) to paint more miniatures to completion;  2) completely transfer my hand-written notes onto the blog and my computer;  and 3) Better organize all the miniatures, tools, and gaming components I have collected over the years. I am still painting (slowly!). I have  taken a pause to transfer my notes for other priorities. I am, however, making a dent into organizing my unassembled miniatures.

My Hobby and Blog in the Summer 2017

One of the clay projects I worked
with my nephews and nieces.
During the summer, I spent the majority of my time with my nieces and nephews. We played mostly Pokémon TCG and Dungeons & Dragons Wrath of Ashardalon. We have failed three times (and counting still) in trying to save the villagers! In addition, we worked on individualized clay projects creating an Asian dragon, a dog, police badge, penguin, and a Pikachu. I found a lot of fun and satisfaction from both working with them on their projects and organizing leagues and campaigns for their games. For a while now and continuing into the future, the direction of this blog have been toward games that the younger audience would enjoy.

This means my current hobby goals are to finish up the adventurers from Wrath of Ashardalon and to paint the Rail Raiders Infinite game-a space western themed chibi miniatures game.
