[Archives] Imperial Men-at-Arms

Updated on October 15. 2015. These are the 15 Imperial Men-at-Arms from the Battle Masters game. These will be used as Empire State Troops in Age of Sigmar. Including the Imperial Crossbowmen and Imperial Archers, they were my first units of troops that I painted. This is the first unit of troops that I tried to make subtle variations among themselves. I think from now on, I will always tried to paint each model within a unit to have some differences.

Notes: I chose to attached an Empire emblem--a cross with a skull in the middle--onto the Men-at-Arms' shields. This is intended to be a unifying theme between the foot and mounted troops (Imperial Knights and Lord Knights). With the Men-at-Arms, I tried to make subtle variations among themselves by painting 3 slightly different skin colorations. Like the Imperial Archers and Crossbowmen. I wanted to paint the puffy regions of clothing to be red (inner lining) and white (outer portion); however, at that time it was too difficult for me to do it cleanly. So I decided to just keep it white. Original binder notes for these miniatures are on Page 14.
