37 Monsters and Villains from Castle Ravenloft Board Game

This series of log entries list my plans and references to help me complete my painting of the remaining miniatures in the Dungeons & Dragons Castle Ravenloft board game. Last year, I finished painting the 5 heroes. What remains to be painted are the monsters and villains.

I plan to paint monsters that share a common theme from both the Castle Ravenloft and Wrath of Ashardalon board games at the same time.

Rat Swarm

There are 3 Rat Swarm miniatures which I want to vary the color distribution of the 21 rats on each base. Researching on the common rat types (Black Rat and Brown Rat) and also the variety of colors rat can be, I decided to have rats mostly with brown or gray fur color, followed by black fur color, and a few with white or very light fur color. Eyes of rats will mostly be black with a small subset with ruby or pink eyes. Nose and ears will be light pink or flesh color with the tail being a combination of the fur and flesh color.
